What began with pushing a lawn mower as a teenager eventually grew into a lifelong passion for creating meaningful outdoor spaces. Over the last 25 years, I’ve worked through nearly every facet of the landscaping industry — from irrigation, lighting, and nursery cultivation to full-scale landscape design, installation, pavers, and outdoor living environments — eventually leading crews as a foreman and building businesses of my own along the way.
Outside of landscaping, I’ve spent more than two decades as a professional photographer and lifelong musician, experiences that deeply shaped the way I approach my craft. Photography taught me how to work with light, shadow, composition, and texture, while music taught me the importance of atmosphere, rhyme, emotion, and flow. Together, those creative disciplines continue to influence the way I design spaces that not only look beautiful, but feel inviting, balanced, and alive.
My entrepreneurial journey, combined with years spent leading youth and small groups, cultivated something even deeper — a passion for creating places where people genuinely connect. Spaces where families gather, conversations linger, memories are made, and life slows down for a moment.
The Garden Variety Club is the culmination of all of those experiences — craftsmanship, creativity, leadership, hospitality, and a deep belief that thoughtfully designed outdoor spaces have the power to bring people together and help them grow.
